This season, Roxane Choux performs her dream role - Sally Bowles in Cabaret by John Kander and Fred Ebb in Biel, Solothurn and around Switzerland.
|Performing| Last season, she was Betly in Donizetti's Betly in Opera House Biel Solothurn, and Cephalia in Ulysses by Kaiser, two roles that highlighted her agile and warm soprano voice. In August 2023, she is invited by the Bregenzer Festspiele to create a performance around Brecht's texts - a standing ovation ! In 2022, she collaborates with Neue Oper Wien, as Patrizia in Das Gesicht im Spiegel by Jörg Widmann, in Wien and Budapest (MÜPA). She sang the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd in the Biel Solothurn Opera House (Iwan Wassilevski/Olivier Tambosi) and Violetta in a dragqueen and electro version of La Traviata in 2021 with the company Runoperun, an alternative opera company based in Prague, led by the very inspiring artist Veronika Loulova. She is invited by the Musikkollegium Winterthur for an opera recital in 2022 (cond: Roberto Gonzales-Monjas) and is invited again the next season as solo soprano in La Passion de Simone by Kaija Saariaho (Joana Carneiro) in 2024. She is invited to join the performance creation by choreographer Agostina d'Alessandro and the centre Présence Compositrices, performing in Marseille (Festival Mars en baroque), and in Brussels (Brigittines). |Own projects] She is interested in developing her own projects - creativity, truth and self expression on the menu. She learned choir conducting and even hesitated to follow this path professionally for some time. She then studied English in Lyon 2, and right after, her helvetic journey started. It lasted 8 years through Fribourg (HEM de Lausanne), Biel (Opera studio) and Zürich (Solo Performance Master) and built up a strong love for this country. The relationship is ongoing, as she still has many projects in Biel. She nourrishes her curiosity through the experience of living abroad, and lived successively in Texas (USA), Rome (Italy), Switzerland and Berlin (Germany). She is now based in Grenoble (France). She is also slowly training in Non Violent Communication and Californian Massage. |
